Kumawood actress Nana Ama revealed the reason why she quit her footballing career to become a the screen goddess we all celebrate today.
In a recent interview, the Ghanaian screen goddess revealed that, she once played for Ghana Premier league giant Asante Kotoko ladies side but quit because she was not making enough money.
“I PLAYED FOR KOTOKO LADIES FOR 5 YEARS BUT THE MONEY WAS NOT COMING AS EXPECTED SO I HAD TO SWITCH INTO ACTING WHEN THE OPPORTUNITY OFFERED ITSELF. MOST PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW I WAS A FOOTBALLER. SOME OF MY COACHES ARE STILL AROUND AND CAN ATTEST TO IT”, SHE DISCLOSED.
The actress with her life experience threw some advice to students pursuing various programmes at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to try as much as possible to accomplish their dreams irrespective of the challenges that will face them along the way.
Also, she added that they shouldn’t try to copy or imitate somebody like her or else they will end up living under the person’s shadow but rather work to improve their God-given potentials.
“DON’T STRIVE TO BE LIKE ME BECAUSE YOU WILL END UP BEING UNDER MY SHADOW. EXPLORE TO BE YOURSELF AND MAKE GOOD USE OF YOUR GOD GIVEN TALENTS. BEING LIKE ME WILL DARKEN YOUR SHINE. ESTABLISH YOUR OWN BRAND AND MAKE IT TO THE TOP”, SHE ADVISED DURING THIS YEAR’S EDITION OF “TEK TALK”
