Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin Blasts GTP for naming cloth after “Dead” Ebony Reigns

Ghana Textiles Printing Limited has name a cloth after dead musician Ebony Reigns as a way of honoring her.

This was done on March 17, 2018  and the name of the cloth is Maame Hw3.

It was worn by friends and family to Ebony’s funeral.

Well, GTP thinks they’ve done something worthwhile for dead Ebony.

But to Kumawood superstar Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin, it is uncalled for.

According to the popular actor, GTP should have honoured Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng a.k.a Ebony Reigns when she was alive and making name for herself. He shared his sentiment on the issue in an interview with Koo Fori on Koforidua-based Bryt 99.1 FM.

“I’m much disappointed in GTP for naming cloths after Ebony after her demise comparably to the time she was alive. GTP could have supported Ebony’s brand the time she was alive. It’s unfortunate that brands only use celebrities to sell their products after their untimely demise”, he revealed.

The actor who sounded disappointed throughout his submission cited Ghanaian rapper M.anifest who’s always in African print yet remains anonymous in the sight of the textile companies.

“Look at M.anifest. He is always in African print but they will not use him until he is gone before they will realize that he was into African prints”, he sadly said.
