Wizkid made history just some few days ago at a concert held in Kampala, Uganda.
Shortly after he arrived, the Come Closer singer had a short press conference with the journalists in the country, where he responded to questions ranging from his career, to the international award shows which often award African artists backstage.
“I don’t take any nonsense that’s trying to look down on Africa or African entertainment.
So, if you are not going to give us same love you show your international artists– ,if you are not going to show us same love on the main stage, then don’t show us love at all.
Watch his full performance at the Kampala concert:
We don’t want it. We have our people and we are contented with our own people,” said Wizkid who revealed that that is why he doesn’t go for the international award shows.
This statement finally explains why he is never seen attending BET Award shows which is famous for awarding African acts backstage, before the main event.
And as we know down here in Ghana, Shatta Wale doesn’t tolerate nonsense when award schemes want to play with him—explaining why the African Dancehall King has been left out of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and BASS Awards.
